Lankan Lions tame the Englishmen in Grand Style..

The Sri Lankan Lions beat the Englishmen today at the Galle International Cricket Stadium by 75 runs after a superlative all round performance. It was a magical win with all the team members giving their bit at vital stages and in the end , the team as predicted earlier was able to screw the Englishmen in front of their own barmy army who out numbered the Sri Lankan fans at the ground.

Mahela Jayawardene - Sri Lanka's Best Ever Test Batsman

It took me a while to accept this but now, I totally believe it. Mahela Jayawardene is the best ever test batsman Sri Lanka has produced to date. That fact was confirmed today by Mahela himself with his epic innings against the Englishmen at Galle. An innings played when the chips were down and Sri Lanka perilously close to getting humiliated at their own den. In the end his solo effort took Sri Lanka 's score to respectability and can now eye a score of 300 for the first innings when at one time , even 250 was looking impossible.

Is it all over for Angelo?

The Sri Lankan test squad for the upcoming test series with England was announced today and the notable absentee was Angelo Mathews. The guy has been absent from the Sri Lankan team since the finals of the CB series and as reported by cricinfo , it is said that the calf problem that has been troubling him is still not good and he won't be able to bowl for Sri Lanka for quite sometime. Clearly it is bad news for Angelo and Sri Lanka.

Why Chamara Silva should be given another Chance..

Chamara Silva is one of those players the Sri Lankan cricket fans love to hate. He has been a thorn in the Sri Lankan team for many years after finally the selectors decided to drop him. Yet, he has come with a bang scoring 163 runs against the visiting England team in the ongoing practice match. Here are five reasons why the selectors should consider taking him back to the team.

What the Indians are saying about their Asia Cup exit on Twitter

After India's exit from the Asia Cup last night, the Indian cricketers and commentators have expressed their views on their exit on Twitter. The following are some of them which  got my attention.

Take that India !!

The Indians must be thinking what they are doing wrong. They always bow out a tournament after depending on Sri Lanka and Sri Lanka seems to fail them (which is a good thing). This time it happened in the Asia Cup last night  and for once most Sri Lankans are happy that we loss to Bangladesh , we might have gone down and bowed out of the tournament without a single win; yet, we took down India with us.
