Lasith Malinga should be Dropped..

Well at least for a short period of time, or at least given a break.  True he is "Slinger Malinga " and is the only bowler Mahela can turn up to in order to bowl those toe crushing yorkers to dismiss the opposition batsmen. Yet recently, he has become so inconsistent. It is high time he should be left in the dressing room for a while and give another bowler a chance.

When he first burst into the scene, Malinga was simply awesome and his bowling was special to say the least. His first tour to Australia was a simply a treat to watch and he bowled with so much accuracy and pace which made the Aussie batsmen to put their dancing shoes on.

The problems started after he signed with the IPL. He was simply awesome for his IPL franchise the Mumbai Indians and took a lot of wickets in all the seasons he played for them. While he became a prized asset for them, his performance for the country slowly deteriorated. He still performed well against other countries; but his performance against the Indians has gone from bad to worse. It was evident even during the recently concluded CB series.

Even in the CB series final , he under performed in the final few overs which gave the Aussies extra few runs and became the turning point of the whole match. Those extra runs cost us the match in the end.
I am not denying that Malinga is an awesome bowler. He is a prized asset for our country and we are so damn luck to have such a bowler in our ranks. Yet when you look at his face, his emotions, you can see that there is something that is just not right. The guy should be given a break and should be helped to sort out his issues to be more consistent in whatever format he plays for his country.

There is no point in under performing for his country and being consistent for your franchise all the time.  After all, money is not everything.

Cheers!!
