Time for Sri Lanka to Screw the English..

So after playing so many One Day Internationals over the past few months, the Sri Lankan Lions will be changing their attire to white again and will be playing the Englishmen in a two test series.  All is set for the first test starting tomorrow and it will be played at the picturesque Galle International Cricket Stadium.

The England team is ranked number one in tests and shown they are in good form by winning both their practice games in impressive style. Sri Lanka of course played their last test series against the Proteas and this will be Mahela Jayawardena's first stint as Test Captain after taking over the reigns from Dilshan.

The best weapon Sri Lanka can use to screw the English is spin so Rangana Herath should be doing his bits to disrupt the formidable English batting line up.  Pakistan did their bit by using their spinners effectively against the Englishmen and it helped them to win the series. Sri Lanka should learn from those lessons and should use spin intelligently in order to have any chance of winning the series.

The question lies in our bowling to take 20 wickets so Mahela got his work cut out. Yet, Sri Lanka has a good record in Galle and if they won't be any hiccups like the one that happened against the Aussies last year. This should be a match Sri Lanka should really win.

The heat will definitely burn the Englishmen and by bowling well and batting intelligently the Sri Lankan Lions should be able to screw them too. Let us hope that happens and wish our team all the best. Hope it will be a test series that is tight and worth watching.

Go Sri Lanka!!

Cheers!!
